Statement from A&PI Wellness Center on the passing of Dennis deLeon

On behalf of the Board of Directors and staff at Asian & Pacific Islander Wellness Center, we are deeply saddened about the loss of a courageous national leader and brother, Dennis deLeon, in the fight against HIV/AIDS.

Dennis worked with Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander communities on numerous national people of color advocacy initiatives including the recent development of the People of Color HIV/AIDS Agenda along side the Latino leadership on HIV/AIDS. We will miss Dennis’s strategic mind, his forthright voice for justice, his humor and always, his love.

The Latino Commission on AIDS and the friends and family of Dennis deLeon have created the “Dennis deLeon Memorial Fund”.
