We are a group of Asian, Pacific Islander, and Hapa men. We identify as Gay, Bisexual, Queer or Questioning. We are empowered to strengthen communities and impact social change through advocacy and education.

raMEN is A&PI Wellness Center’s Men’s Program.
raMEN offers various services such as:

  • Individual Risk Reduction Counseling/ Linkages to Public Services
  • Social/ Support Groups
  • Social Events
  • HIV Testing
  • Peer Leader Program

Individual Risk Reduction Counseling

We provide comprehensive individual HIV risk-reduction counseling for A&PI men in a safe and confidential environment. Our culturally sensitive staff members offer social and emotional support, motivation toward self-actualization, and options to develop and maintain low-risk behaviors, based on a client-centered approach. In addition, we have a wealth of resources and referrals available to cater to the needs of all our patrons.

SOCIAL/SUPPORT GROUPS

Downe & Out
Downe & Out is a safe and friendly space for gay, bisexual, queer and questioning Asian, Pacific Islander, Hapa/Mixed Heritage, and Transracial Adoptee men.

We meet on the 2nd Thursdays of every month from 6 to 9 p.m. and offer a variety of workshops, events, and activities. Please check-in every two weeks for topics that will be discussed.

P.H.O (Purely Honest Onwards)
P.H.O is a men’s program that embraces the unique challenges of A&PI men 30 and above. The group tackles daily relevant challenges that A&PI gay & bisexual men encounter such as: employment, family and relationships, retirement.

raMEN Art Project: We Draw
Come express yourself artistically through exploration of the human figure in a safe space for LGBTQ!

raMEN offers free figure drawing workshops with live models. Drawing workshops meet every 4th Thursdays of the month. Group critique and live demo also included.

SOCIAL EVENTS

raMEN collaborates with various local LGBT social organizations in the Bay Area to produce social events that caters to our community. Such events provide alternative venues for us to socialize, congregate, and network. Examples are SF LGBT PRIDE, Thanksgiving Feast, Scared Stiff Halloween Party and many more!

HIV TESTING

Free Rapid Oral Confidential or Anonymous HIV Testing
We provide free Rapid Oral Confidential or Anonymous HIV Anti-body Testing. Our testing schedule is as follows:
Wednesdays: 4–7 p.m. (by appointment only)
Fridays: 2–6 p.m. (by appointment only.)
First Saturday of the Month: 11 a.m.–3 p.m. (by appointment only)

PEER LEADER PROGRAM

So you think you’d like to do work with your community to prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS in the A&PI MSM community? This is the perfect opportunity. Participants will go through trainings and are assigned to do outreach to specific venues, give useful referrals, and give support to community events and peers. Step up and be a leader in your community.
