Yerba Buena Center for the Arts and
Asian & Pacific Islander Wellness Center Present “MIX…where
creativity and community meet” on May 26

Yerba Buena Center for the Arts and Asian & Pacific Islander
Wellness Center (A&PI Wellness Center) will join efforts
for a fundraising event and community celebration, “MIX…where
creativity and community meet,” on Wednesday evening,
May 26. The festivities begin at 7 p.m., and take place at
The Forum at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, 701 Mission
Street (at 3rd), San Francisco. Tickets cost $75, which covers
fine hors d’oeuvres from gourmet restaurants including
Roy’s, Straits Café, Koi Palace, and several
others; a fusion fashion show by Silk Road; dancing courtesy
of mixmaster DJ St. John of WILD 94.9; live and silent auctions;
and a community awards program. Individual and institutional
sponsorships begin at $250. Funds raised will benefit A&PI
Wellness Center’s multi-lingual services for Asians
and Pacific Islanders living with HIV/AIDS. For event information,

A&PI Wellness Center educates, supports, empowers, and
advocates for A&PI communities, particularly A&PIs
living with or at-risk for HIV/AIDS. Founded in 1987 as a
grassroots response to the HIV/AIDS crisis in communities
of color, it is the oldest nonprofit organization in North
America targeting A&PI communities around sexual health
and HIV/AIDS services.
