Asian & Pacific Islander Wellness Center (A&PI Wellness Center) today announced the availability of free, confidential, and anonymous rapid HIV antibody testing at its San Francisco office, located at 730 Polk Street, Fourth Floor in San Francisco’s Tenderloin neighborhood. Trained counselors provide results of rapid HIV antibody tests within one hour. A&PI Wellness Center conducts rapid HIV testing every Tuesday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., by appointment only. To schedule an appointment or for more information, call 415.292.3420 x304.

A&PI Wellness Center provides counseling throughout the testing process. The counseling and testing process takes about one hour. This testing method is as accurate as the standard HIV antibody test. See apiwellness.org/v20/hivtest/hivtest.html for more information.

HIV Test Counseling is available in Japanese, Cantonese, Mandarin, Vietnamese, and English. Interpretation services are available for other Asian and Pacific Islander languages.

A&PI Wellness Center also conducts free HIV testing at the San Francisco Tet Festival, Chinatown Health Fair, LGBT Pride and other community events held throughout the year. For more information call 415.292.3420 x304.

A&PI Wellness Center educates, supports, empowers, and advocates for A&PI communities, particularly A&PIs living with or at-risk for HIV/AIDS. Founded in 1987 as a grassroots response to the HIV/AIDS crisis in communities of color, it is the oldest nonprofit organization in North America targeting A&PI communities around sexual health and HIV/AIDS services.
