The event was produced by Q Production, Inc.

“MIX…where creativity and community meet” featured fine hors d’oeuvres from gourmet restaurants including Roy’s San Francisco, Butterfly, Straits Café, Koi Palace, Tommy Toy’s, Broadway Prime Rib Restaurant, The Cakery, and Moonstar; a tasting by HPNOTIQ Liqueur; a fusion fashion show by Silk Road; dancing courtesy of mixmaster DJ St. John; and live and silent auctions. A&PI Wellness Center also presented awards to community organizations and individuals supportive of its work. asiaSF, a renowned restaurant and nightclub located in the heart of San Francisco's South of Market district, received the Ally Award; Donald Masuda, A&PI Wellness Center co-founder and former board member, received the Grassroots Award; the Evelyn & Walter Haas, Jr. Fund, a Bay Area foundation, received the Fa’avae Award; and radio station 96.5 KOIT-FM received the Media Partner Award.

Funds raised tonight will benefit A&PI Wellness Center’s multi-lingual services for Asians and Pacific Islanders living with HIV/AIDS.

A&PI Wellness Center educates, supports, empowers, and advocates for A&PI communities, particularly A&PIs living with or at-risk for HIV/AIDS. Founded in 1987 as a grassroots response to the HIV/AIDS crisis in communities of color, it is the oldest nonprofit organization in North America targeting A&PI communities around sexual health and HIV/AIDS services.
