Asian & Pacific Islander Wellness Center Offers Free Volunteer
Training from April 29 through May 1
(San Francisco, April 01 2005)
Asian & Pacific Islander Wellness Center ( A&PI Wellness
Center ) is training prospective volunteers from Friday through
Sunday, April 29 through May 1. The two and a half day training
will be held at the agency's San Francisco office, located
at 730 Polk Street , Fourth Floor, and is free and open to
individuals interested in volunteering for A&PI Wellness
Center. The training will highlight upcoming volunteer opportunities
at the First Annual National Asian & Pacific Islander
HIV/AIDS Awareness Day and MIX '05, the agency's Eighth Annual
Community Awards & Fundraiser event, which will take place
on Thursday, May 19, as well as at the A&PI Pride Stage
at San Francisco Pride 2005, scheduled for Saturday and Sunday,
June 25-26 .
Advance registration is required to attend the April 29 –May

A&PI Wellness Center 's volunteer training will address
topics such as HIV/AIDS, HIV testing, safer sex, outreach,
peer counseling, and cultural diversity. Food will be served.
A&PI Wellness Center 's mission is to educate, support,
empower, and advocate for A&PI communities – particularly
A&PIs living with or at-risk for HIV/AIDS. A&PI Wellness
Center is the oldest non-profit HIV/AIDS services organization
in North America targeting A&PI communities.
