A&PI Wellness Center & UCSF Team up in "Love Your Liver Health Fair" to fight Hepatitis B
San Francisco, CA — Asian & Pacific Islander (A&PI) Wellness Center and University of California, San Francisco are joining forces to host the Love Your Liver Health Fair on Saturday, April 7, 2007, at A&PI Wellness Center's office at 730 Polk Street, Suite 400, San Francisco, CA.
The Love Your Liver Health Fair will take place on April 7, 2007, from 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. The "Love Your Liver Health Fair" will offer free Hepatitis B Education, Screening and Vaccinations. One hundred times more infectious than HIV, Hepatitis B is the most common serious liver infection in the world and is a major cause of cirrhosis and liver cancer. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), over 350 million people are infected with Hepatitis B worldwide with over 50% of US-based infections occurring in Asian American populations. "Hepatitis B affects about one in ten of our A&PI brothers and sisters. We must do more to fight this crisis in our communities. A&PI Wellness Center is committed to do more to educate, prevent, screen, and provide early diagnosis to curb the epidemic of Hepatitis B in our A&PI communities," stated A&PI Wellness Center's Executive Director, Lance Toma, LCSW.

A&PI Wellness center is the oldest and largest nonprofit in North America focusing on sexual health and HIV/AIDS in A&PI communities.
