  Volunteer Opportunities in Prevention Education  
 


Peer Leader

Minimum 6 months or 75 hours commitment.

Be a health educator for one of the following programs:

  • AQU25A — Queer/Questioning Youth (25-year old and under) Program
  • ATE — Transgender Peer Leader Program
  • P.H.O (Purely Honest Onwards) — Men’s program that embraces the unique challenges of API men over thirty and above
  • Downe & Out — Safe and friendly space for gay, bisexual, queer and questioning Asian, Pacific Islander, Hapa/Mixed Heritage, and Transracial Adoptee men

Counsel a peer on a variety of issues from family and coming out, to relationships and identity, bar-hop with the outreach team, socialize, develop leadership and community organizing skills.


Outreach Volunteer
Minimum 6 months commitment.

Educate Asian & Pacific Islander communities about HIV/AIDS, gender & sexuality issues at bars and clubs, neighborhood & street hang outs, and street & community fairs/festivals throughout San Francisco.
